Este artigo apresenta, além de detalhes da fortuna crítica de Soror Maria de Mesquita Pimentel, algumas nuances de sua obra, Memorial da Infancia de Christo e Triumpho do divino Amor (1639), construída por esta monja que se mostra conhecedora de autores seus contemporâneos, como, por exemplo, Camões, Boscán e Garsilaso, sabendo recorrer a estas referências sem no entanto ultrapassar os códigos vigentes em torno da sua condição de mulher e religiosa, descrevendo assim o único amor que lhe seria permitido cantar, o de Cristo, e da sagrada família.
This article presents, not only the details of the critical fortune of Sor Maria de Mesquita Pimentel, some nuances of his work, Memorial of the Childhood of Christ and the Triumph of the Divine Love (1639), constructed by this nun who shows her knowledge of contemporary authors such as Camões, Boscán and Garsilaso knowing use these references but no more than the existing codes around your womanhood and nun, so describing the unique love that you would be allowed to sing, the Christ, and the holy family.
