Abstract(s)
utilizados os dados do European Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC),
generalidade conseguem ajudar as crianças.
The aim of this dissertation is to analyze child poverty in Portugal and its relationship with the Social Insertion Income. In order to carry out this analysis, data from the European Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) will be used, as well as Social Security statistics, between the periods 2015-2023. The various indicators of child poverty will be analyzed, as well as the statistics relating to the bracket of beneficiaries of the Social Integration Income in Portugal, and their impact on reducing the child poverty rate. Child poverty has specific characteristics that poverty for the general population does not include, so studying its specificities is relevant to analyzing how public policies aimed at combating poverty in general manage to help children. In Portugal, children are the age group most affected by poverty, and within this age group there are children with increased vulnerability, these being those in large families and those in households with low levels of education.
