| dc.description.abstract | Este relatório tem como objetivo analisar o trabalho realizado ao longo do estágio profissionalizante de Jéssica Viseu efetuado no Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna, no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução, no período compreendido entre 20 de setembro de 2020 e 19 de abril de 2021. O presente relatório inclui um enquadramento teórico relativo a teorias da tradução e à área da tradução técnica e científica, bem como a análise de exemplos retirados da tradução do relatório Fatigue Effects and Countermeasures in 24/7 Security Operations realizada ao longo do estágio. A análise incide sobre algumas questões linguísticas, incluindo a modalidade e expressões modais, a explicitação de género na tradução, as construções comparativas de grau, a tradução de expressões referenciais, incluindo casos de referência indeterminada, formas de tratamento e expressões anafóricas, as metáforas concetuais, e a ordem dos adjetivos na língua inglesa e na língua portuguesa. Além disso, este relatório inclui também um capítulo que aborda outras questões, tais como a tradução de expressões de valor temporal, a questão da tradução do gerúndio, e a importância da tradução e as consequências que podem advir de erros de tradução. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This report aims to analyse the work of Jéssica Viseu, during her professional internship at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna between 20 Septem-ber 2020 and 19 April 2021, in the scope of the Master's in Translation. The report includes a theoretical part concerning translation theories and the field of technical and scientific translation, as well as the analysis of examples taken from the translation of the report Fatigue Effects and Countermeasures in 24/7 Security Opera-tions done during the internship, especially the analysis of some linguistic issues, such as modality and modal expressions, the explanation of gender in translation, comparison clauses, the translation of referential expressions, concerning indeterminate reference, ways of addressing people and anaphoric expressions, metaphors, and the order of ad-jectives in English and Portuguese. In addition, this report also includes a chapter con-cerning other issues, such as the translation of temporal expressions, the translation of the gerund and the importance of translation and the consequences that may arise from translation errors. | pt_PT |
