The article aims to relate reflections and visual results with students of 2nd year of elementary school and will show how the visual elements were presented through dialogue, image reading and autonomous production seeking the expansion of cultural awareness. It will point how the practice of art education is important in school, including the understanding of contemporary visual culture, and, as well, as there is a direct relationship with the phenomenology of perception from Maurice Merleau-Ponty
