This research project aims to analyse the concept of emptiness through a comparative approach between Eastern and Western cultures. Considering the complexiu of this concept, as well as its resistance in the West, the main objective is the artistic materialisation of a concept generally understood as imaterial. Its embodiment culminated in the creation of na artist's book, where the typographic freedom offered by concrete poetry proved to be helpful in the visual deconstruction of the concept of emptiness, proving effective in its communication and contributing to its transcendence. In this contexto, a qualitative-based mixed methodology was used. The theoretical framework was established through a literary critique of emptiness in the East (in philosophy and literature, including Buddhism, Taoism and the Kyoto School) and in te West (in philosophy and physics), as well as a review of concrete poetry. Case studies were carried out in which artistic works associated with possible materialisations of the concept of emptiness were analysed (music, painting, installation, photography and conceptual or performance art). This was followed by the development of an artist's book to embody emptiness. The results visually synthesise Easternand Western views of emptiness, contribuing to the dissemination and possible understanding of this concept in graphic and visual arts.
