Os contornos da complexa teia familiar adivinham-se difíceis de trabalhar quando falamos de famílias
multiproblemáticas pobres, afectadas pelas suas condições psico-sócio-económicas. Estas, quando
deparadas por situações de crise, mais facilmente caiem em situação de bloqueio, pois detêm poucas
competências, levando à emergência do caos familiar. Torna-se então relevante trabalhar as
competências que estas famílias têm, desbloqueando-as e fazendo a família perceber que as detém,
bem como dotá-las de mecanismos, aptidões e competências que não possuem para conseguirem
fazer face às situações de crise com que se depararão ao longo do seu ciclo de vida.
Em virtude dos diversos desafios que actualmente se colocam a estas famílias, promoveu-se o
projecto de formação em Gestão Familiar como forma de intervenção educativa e preventiva. Este
projecto radicou-se no trabalho com as competências das famílias como meio de promoção para o
empowerment. Os resultados apontaram para o aumento da auto-estima e melhoria da dinâmica e
organização familiar bem como para o reforço e/ou aquisição de novos conhecimentos, que
permitiram o modificar de competências e comportamentos anteriores. O reforço de conhecimentos
permitiu o reconhecimento de capacidades, promovendo-se o processo de mudança dos indivíduos e
famílias.
The configurations of the complex family web are hard to work with multiproblem low-income families, affected by their psycho-social-economical condition. These, when face crisis situations, more easily fall in blockade situations, because they have few abilities and skills, driven them into family chaos. Therefore is relevant to work with the abilities these families have, unblocking them and making the family understand that they hold these abilities, as well as to work with them to the acquirement of mechanisms, abilities and skills that they don’t possess, so they can intervene in the crisis situations along their family cycle. Due to diverse challenges put to these families, it was promoted a building-up project on family management, as a process of educational and preventive intervention. This project took root on the work with family abilities as a method to promote their empowerment. The results pointed to the increase on self-esteem and improvement on family organization and dynamics as well as reinforcement and/or acquisition of new knowledge that allowed modifying previous behaviors and abilities. The reinforcement of knowledge has permitted the recognition of abilities and therefore promoted the process of change of individuals and families.
