Água, tempo e ruína. A reconstrução emocional do cais da Margueira é um exercício que utiliza a memória como matéria da Arquitectura.
Com o advento da desindustrialização emergem lugares à beira-rio pontuados pelas ruínas de uma era obsoleta.
A proposta formaliza o desejo de re-imaginar e transformar os vestígios industriais como espaço de mediação entre a terra e a água, nomeadamente os antigos Estaleiros da Lisnave, uma paisagem que actualmente não desempenha nenhuma função urbana, apenas aquela de permanecer estagnada no tempo face às dinâmicas urbanas e antrópicas.
No projecto são exploradas as ideias de tempo cíclico e atemporalidade das ruínas e fragmentos industriais de modo a restabelecer a articulação entre a cidade e o rio. O acto de projecto, reflecte os fundamentos e conceitos teóricos apresentados em conformidade com uma viagem pela geografia e contexto histórico do lugar que, na prática, serviram de mote à proposta.
Do silêncio das ruínas industriais que motiva o trabalho, propõem-se a transformação do cais da Margueira a partir de uma estratégia de tabula plena. A re-significação destes objectos abandonados e obsoletos é operada através da reinterpretação da memória industrial, recorrendo à utopia como ferramenta para idealizar uma transformação sobre os vestígios, permitindo perpetuarem-se no futuro. Este binómio entre terra e água será conjugado com o elemento tempo, trabalhando a apropriação das ruínas para acolher usos transitórios na atemporalidade do lugar.
Redesenha-se o lugar na procura de uma transformação em continuidade, por meio da água, do tempo e da ruína.
Água, tempo e ruína. A reconstrução emocional do cais da Margueira is an exercise that uses memory as architectural material. With the advent of deindustrialization, riverside locations emerged, punctuated by the ruins of an obsolete era. The proposal formalizes the desire to re-imagine and transform industrial vestiges as a space of mediation between land and water, namely the former Lisnave shipyards, a landscape that currently performs no urban function, only that of remaining stagnant in time due to urban and anthropic dynamics. The project explores the ideas of cyclical time and the timelessness of industrial ruins and fragments to re-establish the link between the city and the river. The act of designing reflects the theoretical foundations and concepts presented in accordance with a journey through the geography and historical context of the place which, in practice, served as the motto for the proposal. From the silence of the industrial ruins that motivates the work, we propose the transformation of the Margueira pier using a tabula plena strategy. The re-signification of these abandoned and obsolete objects is conducted through the reinterpretation of industrial memory, using utopia as a tool to idealize a transformation of the remains, allowing them to be perpetuated in the future. This binomial between land and water will be combined with the element of time, working on the appropriation of the ruins to accommodate transitory uses in the timelessness of the place. The place is redesigned in search of a transformation in continuity, through água, do tempo e da ruína.
