| dc.description.abstract | Jardim da Estrela, currently known as Jardim Guerra Junqueiro, is located in the Estrela parish, in Lisbon, with one of its entrances in front of the Bas´ılica da Estrela. One of its major attractions is the bandstand where musicians perform during the summer months. The aim of this study was to develop a mobile application, JEPerceptionsMapping, with the purpose of mapping and sharing perceptions of the experiences of this garden’s visitors, thereby disseminating these experiences to other visitors. This sharing of perceptions is achieved through text, sounds, videos, and images, thus providing the user with more information about the objects, locations, and flora present in the garden. It is also possible to develop experiences using augmented reality by overlaying digital content (images, videos, sound, and text) onto the image captured by the mobile device’s camera, thereby enriching the user’s visit. The application’s interface displays a map of the garden showing the user’s current position and marked points of interest. By selecting each of the points of interest, the user accesses a page with multimedia or augmented reality content related to that location. A user study was carried out to assess the application’s usability, and to ascertain if the implemented features effectively facilitate the gathering and depiction of the experiences of the visitors at the Garden. | pt_PT |
