In this study, of an exploratory nature, we wish to answer some questions which have come up in the field of continuous learning for teachers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Among the questions addressed it is important to look into whether or not a course organized for teachers will meet their needs and if a course will have an influence or not on the professional life of the teachers. It is also important to know what motivates teachers to choose this type of course, as well as their opinions about the type of approach that has been taken to ICT. Bearing this in mind, we investigated a sample of teachers who attend continuous learning courses in the Centros de Formação de Associação de Escolas (Course Centre for the Schools’ Association) in Castelo Branco and neighbouring councils. The results obtained offer the perception of these teachers on the given questions. Although they are not definitive or universally applicable, the results lead us to the conclusion that teachers view continuous learning courses in ICT in a positive way, in what regards: the way they are presented and offered, the teaching approach that is taken and the effects and implications of these courses on their teaching practice. We can, indeed, verify that the teachers inquired were not only satisfied with the amount and diversity of the continuous learning courses in ICT they were offered, but also felt they were of quality and were effective, appropriate for meeting the needs of the educational system and o f the teachers, for their level of teaching and/or the subject.
