Resumo(s)
Maria José de Mendonça (1905-1984) was an important portuguese museologist very dedicated to her professional life. During her existence, she kept and documented everything she could, both documents from conferences and associations in which she participated, as well as from her various trips and visits to museums, which consequently gave rise to her archive. This archive had not been studied until then, hence the importance of this curricular internship, which has as its main objective the survey of all the contents of the estate. This is quite extensive and diversified, with a total of 126 units, which are present in the library of the National Museum of Costume. The museological unit is installed in the Angeja-Palmela Palace and surrounded by the immense Botanical Park of Monteiro-Mor, located in Lisbon, in the parish of Lumiar. The museum features permanent and temporary exhibitions with a vast collection of civilian clothing and accessories ranging from the 18th century to the present. With this work it is intended, through theoretical research and field analysis, to create tools that allow to know more about this museologist, what she achieved and everything that she brought to light, some things remaining until today. Almost 40 years after his death, a brief exhibition proposal is presented, safeguarding his memory and showing his importance for the museum heritage
