Abstract(s)
This text explores the investigations carried out at an artistic level (practice and artistic research) within the scope of the Master in Painting. It starts from a territory of absolute creative freedom to investigate how artistic creation can represent a love encounter that sublimates violence considering, in particular, in my artistic project. In terms of the structure of the dissertation, the first chapter defines and analyzes the way in which the concept of violence is present in the contemporary panorama, presenting the concept of a destructive creation; in the second chapter, it is discussed how the artistic process is a physical and symbolic gesture of transformation of matter and, in this specific case, of violence; the third chapter argues the idea that artistic creation can represent, express and enhance an act that contradicts violence and that can be configured through a possible love encounter between the work and the viewer. Finally, throughout the various chapters, some plastic projects are presented, carried out during this period of time, in dialogue with the established concepts and with the artists and the analyzed authors.
