Relatório de estágio no Clube Intercultural Europeu: a tradução de textos técnicos e outros para fins educacionais

O presente relatório tem como finalidade dar a conhecer os problemas que existem em traduções técnicas de espanhol para português. Neste caso em particular, de traduções técnicas para fins educacionais efetuadas durante o estágio curricular no Clube Intercultural Europeu no ano letivo de 2014-2015. Das seis publicações que pude traduzir ao longo do ano letivo, tanto dirigidas a professores como a alunos (crianças e adolescentes), analiso, neste relatório, duas que trabalhei no primeiro semestre: Manualidades con Materiales de Desecho e Cómo Vivir sin Acabar con el Planeta. Serão descritas as diferenças existentes entre o texto técnico (encontrado em ambas as publicações) e o texto literário (encontrado na primeira) e como contornar os obstáculos que cada um deles me impôs. Em Manualidades con Materiales de Desecho, texto de carácter instrucional que tem como objetivo primordial a elaboração de trabalhos manuais, está patente terminologia desta área. Na última parte desta publicação, encontramos, também, uma panóplia de poesia infantil. Em Cómo Vivir sin Acabar con el Planeta, por sua vez, encontrei alguma terminologia do campo da sustentabilidade ambiental, pois o texto visa consciencializar os jovens dos problemas do mundo em que vivemos, e, também, interjeições/exclamações que merecem particular destaque quando traduzidas para a língua de chegada.
Ao longo do relatório, para cada uma das publicações, são expostas caixas de texto com diferentes problemas encontrados nas traduções, como por exemplo, falsos amigos, polissemia, empréstimos e metáforas convencionalizadas. A terminologia, os tipos de texto e o público-alvo são as questões predominantes deste trabalho, bem como as soluções de tradução por mim efetuadas. Para além disto, é importante verificar que, apesar da semelhança entre as linguas em análise, esta questão não significa com que não nos deparemos com problemas no ato da tradução. É, precisamente, a parecença do português e do espanhol que induz o tradutor ao erro.
Abstract: This present report aims to show the problems that exist in technical spanish translations into portuguese. In this particular case, the technical translations for educational purposes encountered during the internship in Clube Intercultural Europeu in the school year of 2014-2015. I translated six publications during the school year, directed both teachers and students (children and adolescents) and analyze, in this present report, two of them of the first semester: Manualidades con Materiales de Desecho and Cómo Vivir sin Acabar con el Planeta. It will be described the differences between the technical text (it was found in both publications) and the literary text (it was found in the first one) and how to face up the barriers I’ve came across in each of them. In Manualidades con Materiales de Desecho, an instructional text that aims the elaboration of handmade, it presents terminology of the field of handwork and an array of children’s poetry in the last section. On the other hand, Cómo Vivir sin Acabar con el Planeta presents some terminology of the field of environmental sustainability, since the text aims to raise awareness among young people about the problems in the world we live in, and interjections/exclamations that deserve particular attention when they are translated into the target language. Throughout this report, text boxes with different translation problems are presented for each publication, for example, false friends, polysemy, loanwords and conventionalized metaphors. Terminology, text types and target audience are the predominant issues of this work, but also the translation solutions made by me. In addition, it’s important to verify that despite the similarity between the languages under consideration we can find translation problems. It’s precisely the likeness between portuguese and spanish that misleads the translator.
