Resumo(s)
The evolution of the environmental problem facing the accelerated technological advancement which
demands more and more natural resources associated to the increasing population and urban growth, have
taken environmentalists to discuss the future of the planet and the demand for green areas is more
necessary, as well as their capacity to resist to environmental aggression. Because we did a case study in
the Moinhos de Vento Urban Park, located in Porto Alegre – RS, Its main goal was to understand the
relationships of users of the Moinhos de Vento Park (Parcão) with respect to physical aspects, Psychosocial
and the presence of vegetation in the Urban Centre, identifying aspects in the comfort and environmental
perceptions on the Park. The methodology was carried out a questionnaire with 7 questions: Six open and
one with multiple choice. The interviews were conducted by the author, from May 2009 until the month of
August 2009. For each interview were identified keywords, which were grouped according to similarity of
meaning, forming categories of responses. For the tabulation of data, graphs were prepared and
subsequently analyzed using the Method of Descriptive Statistics. In summary, our results showed that: a)
the presence of nature, with its biodiversity has made the park a place constantly sought by users seeking
comfort, peace, tranquillity, leisure by the lake, near the mill, a place aimed at socializing with the presence
of grass, "cachorrodromo" to walk the pets, bowling, sports, and finally the presence of the square, a place
where children can play without any danger in the open air space; b) the environments more comfortable in
the park were located in it centre, as the lake, which with its biodiversity attracts people, the mill with small
waterfalls, small animals and their beauty becoming preferred by most, the grass, as place where people can
sit in the sun drinking mate and talk; c) the characteristics that most influenced the selection of environments
were: good maintenance, accessibility and comfort, biodiversity, privacy and security; d) the main
suggestions related to the environments were: additional lighting and increased security; e) regarding
expectations for the types of vegetation, were highlighted the need to increase the presence of flowers, and
the need for placement of signs to identify the various species in the park; f) the slope has proved critical to
absorb the intense noise of the avenue to provide more livable environments; g) for wind users interviewed
revealed feelings of comfort provided by the consistent planting of trees in the area south of the park and
also because of its correct use and location in relation to the presence of moisture were considered
excessive by most respondents.
