| dc.description.abstract | We live in a time marked by intense political, economic, social, environmental and pandemic crises. In this scenario of destruction and catastrophe, ruin has been gaining a leading role within contemporary artistic production. This project work proposes a reflection on the dialogue between art and abandonment. The objective is to investigate the phenomenon of the interpretation of the ruins in the current sculptural panorama, as well as to understand their reflections in the artistic poetics of the author himself. This qualitative research, of a theoretical-practical nature, is divided into two distinct phases, but connected by the guiding thread of abandonment. In the first stage, of theoretical character, the problem of ruins is approached under a historical, anthropological, sociological, philosophical and artistic view, deepening above all in its relationship with the contemporary sculptural universe. In the second phase, of practical character, the artistic praxis of the author performed during the Master's degree in Sculpture is presented, entitled "Metamorphosis of Abandonment". It isintended to connect it procedurally, conceptually and aesthetically with theoretical reflection, in a complementary and conclusive way. From the study of this important segment of modern aesthetics, we seek to contribute to scientific and artistic growth, advancing in theory, proposing new discussions and deepening concepts and practices. The investigation concludes by noting the importance of ruins for the construction of the poetic imaginary of artists throughout history and the great contribution brought to the theme by sculpture in contemporary times. | pt_PT |
