dc.description.abstract	This work focuses on the idea of the gift of creation — the gift of having been originated, and the gift of being able to originate. In essence, it is a reflection on origin, art and being. It explores references from Biology and Philosophy, divided between a theoretical path and an artistic project, which together make up this research. I approach the idea of origin from different cosmogonies and mythologies, in order to establish the idea of a universal centre and the dual nature of being. I propose the biological origin as the origin of an identity dilemma, the impossibility of separating the individual from the world they inhabit, originating a paradoxical double. I turn to the idea of metaphor and Art as ways of presenting, transforming and creating an expanded reality. Finally, I present my artistic project, the result of an intimate and direct work with the natural world. Through drawing, painting, poetry, photography and small installation, I present an outlook of the world, from an opening within itself.	pt_PT
