Como forma de responder aos altos investimentos cada vez mais comuns numa Europa sediada por pessoas que têm o interesse em transformar o futebol num negócio ao invés num desporto de alta qualidade, a gestão de formação desempenha cada vez mais um papel fundamental nos clubes de futebol em Portugal. A habilidade de desenvolver jogadores da formação em atletas de alto nível é uma missão que muitos clubes portugueses buscam aprimorar, tanto para realizar o sonho de um jovem de se estrear na equipa principal quanto para obter retornos financeiros substanciais. Neste relatório serão analisadas algumas das causas para esse efeito, tal como fornece um relato detalhado de todas as minhas atividades sobre o meu estágio curricular elaborado na área de Operações do Sport Lisboa e Benfica durante a época 2022/2023. O objetivo deste relatório passa por dar a conhecer o modelo de organização do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, assim como o funcionamento do departamento de Team Manager ao longo de uma época desportiva.
As a response to the increasing investments that have become more common in a Europe driven by individuals interested in transforming football into a business rather than a high quality sport, training development plays an increasingly pivotal role within football clubs in Portugal. The ability to nurture youth talent into high level athletes is a mission that many Portuguese clubs aim to refine, both in order to realize the dream of debuting in the first team and to gain substantial financial returns. This report examines some of the underlying causes for this effect, while also providing a detailed account of my activities during my internship in the Operations department of Sport Lisboa e Benfica throughout the 2022/2023 season. The primary objective of t his report is to shed light on the organizational model of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, as well as the functioning of the Team Manager department over the course of a sporting season.
