Neste artigo discuto a categoria ontológica das propriedades universais. Na primeira seção apresento algumas diferentes estratégias de distinção entre propriedades e objetos e discuto seus respectivos problemas.
Na segunda seção apresento uma tipologia das propriedades. A terceira seção trata do problema da existência das propriedades, também conhecido como o Problema dos Universais, e as principais teorias a respeito. Finalmente, na última seção, discuto a relação entre as propriedades e os predicados que as expressam.
Abstract: In this article I discuss the ontological category of universal properties. In the first section I present some different strategies for distinguish - ing objects and properties and discuss their difficulties. In the second part I present a typology of properties. The third section deals with the problem of the existence of properties, also known as the Problem of Universals, and the main theories for solving it. Finally, in the last section, I discuss the relation between properties and the predicates that express them.
