We live in a world progressively more digital, and the Internet has assumed itself as an essential good in the day-to-day life. This growing dissemination of the Internet also potentiates the electronic commerce. The easiness and convenience of acquiring a good or service at any place at any time, through a simple click, has been a more and more common practice. It is important to have at sight that this ease given to buyers has a complex logistic process behind it, that seeks to guarantee the purchasers receive the good or the service in the minimum time and in the best conditions. After a depth study and an interview with a logistics specialist, it is possible to affirm that e-commerce has affected the system companies operate, because (some of them) other than their presence physically they also must deal with the online management, where the costumers expect the same quality as the one offered on store, while receiving their products as soon as possible. So, the several steps of the logistics process are followed so that the delivery deadlines and the service quality are secured for the final consumer: both in the quality of the service making sure there is enough stock to satisfy the order, or on the management of orders itself, because the these can be unpredictable. The packing, transportation and delivery to the costumer are steps to be more careful and attentive to, because of how they can impact the state and time of distribution. It's important to keep in mind that the coronavirus pandemic has affected the way people shop and the volume of purchases made online, given to the fact that once they were in lockdown companies had to adapt to this growth and optimize processes.
