Santos, Gina Maria da Conceição, 1977-2014-11-252014-11-252014-07-172014http://hdl.handle.net/10451/15341The Municipal Orphanage President Sidónio Pais, located at Casa da Baía , currently the Tourism Office , had great importance to Setúbal regarding the educational component of abandoned and disadvantaged children in the city. Over a hundred boys went through the President Sidónio Pais Municipal Orphanage, orphans, the unprotected and the helpless were educated by this institution , which turned these boys into men, workers and responsible for life. Learning a craft was the primary purpose of the orphanage and beyond the carpentry shop , bookbinding and other shops , there was also a printer shop, where the boys received training in graphics, were they began as aprendices ending as professional printers, a growing trade in the 1950’s ans 60’s, Setúbal having numerous printer’s shops. The typography workshop was essential in deciding the theme for this thesis. Based on the study of Museology and Museography, I performed a museum project for a temporary exhibition on this topic. It was crucial for this work the research an investigation of the diverse literature, retrieving information about the social aspect of Setubal and the orphanage as well as the object of study, the typography , which was confirmed through interviews of former President Sidónio Pais Municipal Orphanage. From this research one began an display project where the typography’s shop will arise, as its surroundings, as a living workshop, safeguarding and disseminating the various publics with the valuable patrimony deposited inside the Casa da Baía’s building, leading the local community closer and into being accountable for this.porPatrimónio culturalEducaçãoEstudos museológicosSetúbal - História e sociologiamaster thesis201345595
