Sob o prisma da classe, do género e da “raça”, esta investigação cruzou testemunhos da memória vivida e elementos da memória mediada para aceder quer a trajetórias individuais de portugueses retornados de Angola realojados num bairro social do Vale da Amoreira, quer aos quadros sociais de memória que participam na construção da memória coletiva da vida colonial, do retorno e da vida em tempo pós-colonial.The return of around half a million Portuguese from the former colonies between 1974 and 1979 is a historic event that, on the one hand, disturbs the great national narratives of Portugal and, on the other hand, is still poorly studied from the point of view of white and mestizo wage earners and small owners.
