No entanto, as novas gerações que nasceram e cresceram em Portugal conhecem menos a cultura chinesa do que a cultura portuguesa. Isso tem a ver com o ambiente em que vivem, o sistema de ensino que frequentam e a educação familiar, entre outros fatores, apagando gradualmente a representatividade da cultura chinesa num território ocidental. Por forma a conhecer e refletir sobre os comportamentos e as opiniões da geração 2.0 dos imigrantes chineses em Portugal sobre a etiqueta à mesa com a família foi realizado um questionário a 52 alunos. Os dados recolhidos demonstram que a grande parte dos inquiridos respeita a cultura chinesa e reconhece a identidade cultural chinesa, porém, em relação à etiqueta à mesa, o resultado aponta que os jovens não têm um conhecimento profundo, portanto não agem conforme o modelo tradicional da cultura chinesa na entremesa no contexto familiar. O presente trabalho pretende contribuir para compreender as razões pelas quais os adolescentes chineses em Portugal não conhecem muito bem a cultura chinesa, não apenas com o intuito de refletir sobre a importância da etiqueta à mesa do agregado familiar na cultura chinesa, mas também de ver até que ponto se reflete nos comportamentos da segunda geração da comunidade chinesa em Portugal.In recent years, the Chinese community has become the largest from the Asian region and its growth has seen a huge increase in the past ten years. However, the new generations that were born and raised in Portugal know less about Chinese culture than Portuguese culture. This has to do with the environment in which they live, the study system and family education, among other factors, gradually erasing Chinese representation in a western territory. To reach this objective of study, a questionnaire was carried out to 52 participating students, in order to know the behaviours and ideas of 2.0 generation of Chinese immigrants in Portugal on the table manners with their families. The data that was collected shows that most respondents respect Chinese culture and recognize their Chinese cultural identity, however, the result shows that young people still lack for a deep knowledge in relation to the table manners, therefore they do not act in a traditional way of Chinese culture in the family context.
