Nowadays, the desire to maintain a young image and healthy appearance is omnipresent in both genders. The skin aging is generally the main concern with a marked social impact. Our face is our "business card". Numerous techniques have been used for skin aging management, either with prevention, delaying or regeneration mechanisms. Those techniques may target different structures of skin. Recently, the skin nervous system has been attracting more attention, and its time-related changes suggest a possible new target in the skin rejuvenation field. This review focus on the skin structure and its innervation, and especially on the most commonly used regeneration/rejuvenation methods, including superficial methods (superficial peels and dermabrasion) and more invasive techniques (injectable therapies and lasers), as well as their applicability, outcomes and side effects. Neuropeptides, cosmeceuticals and the benefits of association of these techniques will be also addressed.application/pdfporCosmeceuticalsInjectable therapiesLasersMestrado Integrado - 2015NeuropeptidesSkin Nervous SystemSkin RejuvenationNeurocosmetics, injectable and laser treatments for skin aging managementmaster thesis
