O primeiro ponto a fazer é desenvolver o formato do estudo de caso. Este é conseguido seguindo as diretrizes da Universidade de Harvard, bem como exemplos disponíveis em SAGE, adaptando ao propósito deste projeto que é de ser aplicado por estudantes da área financeira. O estudo de caso tem em vista analisar a viabilidade de abrir um franchise de Five Guys em Lisboa. Para isso, este começa por analisar a empresa em questão para perceber como o seu produto se adaptaria ao mercado Português. Assim, a indústria portuguesa de hambúrgueres tem também de ser analisada. Esta análise é conseguida pela interpretação de dados estatísticos, bem como pela aplicação de um questionário à população residente em Lisboa e arredores para avaliar a sua aderência. Tendo estes elementos, e através de questões de discussão propostas, a avaliação deste projeto de franchise é possível com o cálculo do ser Valor Atualizado Líquido, considerando presentes restrições e riscos e incerteza sobre o futuro.This project aims to develop a case study on the franchise of an American fast-food chain. The first thing that is needed is to set a template for the case study. This is achieved by following guidelines of Harvard Business School, looking at examples available at SAGE, and adapting it to the purpose of this project, which is to be applied by students in the financial area. The case study aims to analyze the viability of opening a Five Guys franchise in Lisbon. To do such analysis, it begins by analyzing the company in question to understand how its product would fit the Portuguese market. It follows that the Portuguese burger industry must also be analyzed. This is done through the interpretation of statistical data, as well as the application of a survey to the population residing in and around Lisbon to evaluate their adherence.
