O estudo dos materiais procedentes deste conjunto funerário em depósito no Museu Nacional de Arqueologia permite confirmar a presença de um enterramento em urna com características particulares que remetem para uma influência de cunho meridional procedente do litoral, presença essa que permite repensar as dinâmicas culturais da difusão dos enterramentos em urna em torno a meados do I milénio a.n.e. e a sua posição na sequência crono-cultural das necrópoles tumulares da região de Ourique, no Baixo Alentejo. Despite having been mentioned for a long time in bibliography regarding the Iron Age of southern Portugal in general, and the Ourique area in particular, little is known about the necropolis of Cerro do Ouro (Ourique). The study of the material from this site deposited in the Museu Nacional de Arqueologia confirms the presence in this funerary site of an urn burial with peculiar characteristics which point towards a southern influence hailing from the coastal areas.
