Portuguese Economic Journal, 23(2):313-3341617-9838 (electronic)1617-982X (print)http://hdl.handle.net/10400.5/98962This paper discusses the infuence of producer service industry agglomeration on the eco-efciency of tourism enterprises based on the data from 2014 to 2019. It is found that there was a positive spatial correlation of the eco-efciency of tourism enterprises in China. In the whole country, eastern and western regions, the specialized agglomeration of producer service industry promoted the eco-efciency of tourism enterprises. The diversifed agglomeration of producer service industry had obvious positive efect on the eco-efciency of tourism enterprises in the central region. According to the logt test, the two types of agglomeration increased the probability of a tourism enterprise entering the “convergence club with higher ecoefciency”. The infuencing mechanism test indicates that the specialized and diversifed agglomeration of producer service industry could improve the eco-efciency of tourism enterprises through “technology spillover efect” and “demonstration and learning efect”.engProducer service industrySpecialized agglomerationDiversified agglomerationTourism enterprisesEco-efficiencyProducer service industry agglomeration and eco‑efficiency of tourism enterprises: theoretical mechanism and empirical testjournal articledoi.org/10.1007/s10258-023-00235-4
