O estudo examina como o equilíbrio entre fidelidade à mitologia greco-romana e inovação nas narrativas influenciaram na maneira como Circe e Medeia foram apresentadas na literatura e iconografia medieval e renascentista.This Dissertation examines the literary and iconographic evolution of the mythological characters Circe and Medea, focusing on their development from Classical Antiquity to the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The research highlights how these figures, both associated with magic and influential in the journeys of male heroes, have been reinterpreted over the centuries, reflecting the cultural, social and aesthetic changes of each era.
