Pretende refletir e agir sobre os vazios urbanos e a qualificação do espaço público, de modo a reclamar a cidade aos seus habitantes. Visa valorizar a área em estudo através da regeneração urbana e do processo participativo na arquitetura, que promova atividades no âmbito cultural e social, engoblando o edifício enquanto continuação do espaço público. A área de intervenção corresponde à VSO, nomeadamente aos bairros Vale do Forno e Encosta da Luz, marcada pela génese ilegal, débeis condições do espaço público e a desarticulação com a envolvente devido à forte presença infraestrutural e a presença de vazios urbanos de considerável relevância e dimensões. A solução apresentada pretende a conexão da VSO com Odivelas, tendo o equipamento enquanto centralidade; a qualificação do espaço público e dos vazios urbanos; a promoção de áreas verdes, usos florestrais e agrícolas, para consumo ou comercialização. Esta revitalização, procura melhorar, aproximar e criar novas vivências e relações sociais, retificando as suas debilidades. Uma vez que os bairros a intervir possuem uma forte componente social, o Centro Sócio Cultural surge para satisfazer as necessidades sociais e interculturais, dos habitantes dos bairros como dos habitantes de Odivelas.ABSTRACT: The present Final Master’s Work aims to find social responses and revitalization to the intervention area within the scope of AUGI’s, arising from the rural exodus and conflicts of the second half of the 20th century, and the consequent problems, namely the disconnection of the VSO with the rest of the city. It intends to reflect and act on urban voids and the qualification of of public space, in order to claim the city for its inhabitants. It aims to enhance the area under study through urban regeneration and the participatory process in architecture,which promotes activities in the cultural and social sphere, engulfing the building as an extension of public spaceThe intervention area corresponds to the VSO, namely the Vale do Forno and Encosta da Luz neighborhoods, marked by its’ illegal origins, weak conditions of public space and the disconnection with the surroundings due to the strong infrastructural presence and the presence of urban boids of considerable relevance and dimensions. The presented solution intends to connect the VSO with Odivelas, having the cultural centre as a centrality; the qualification of public space and urban voids; the promotion of green areas, forestry and agricultural uses, for consumption or commercialization. This revitalization seeks to improve, bring and create new experiences and social relationships, rectifying their weaknesses.
