It uses as example the installation of the 30th Bienal de São Paulo, on the theme The Imminence of Poetics, curated by Luís Pérez-Oramas, in constituting a specific space and time for Contemporary Art in Brazil, constructing different meanings for the history of museology, in both Brazil and the world. This example was chosen because of the importance of the Bienal de São Paulo on the international scene, and the period covered, of great interest, is from June to September, 2012, when it was set up and opened in the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion of the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo. The following aims have been drawn up: to present, from a curatorial perspective, based on interviews and continuous observation, the installation of the 30th Bienal de São Paulo; to develop a retrospective study, with particular emphasis on its contribution to the global growth of the contemporary art world; to analyse from a curatorial viewpoint the technique of installation, highlighting the curatorial aspects involved; to consider the specifics of conceptual art; to reflect on the importance of educational activities, in this context. This research is of importance, firstly: because the Bienal de São Paulo, similarly to that of Venice, has over the years modified how art is treated in Brazil, making it a center of international contemporary art, the second largest modern art event in the world artistic calendar, and secondly: there being no satisfactory bibliography about it. To sum up, this work seeks to demonstrate the importance of the Bienal de São Paulo in the development of museology and in the international artistic scenarioporBienal de São Paulo, 30, 2012Bienais de São PauloHistóriaCuradoriaArte conceptualAcção educativaXXX Bienal de São Paulo : uma instalação à escala da metrópolemaster thesis201345650
