Nesse âmbito são analisadas as motivações que podem conduzir à realização de tais intervenções, os seus efeitos positivos e negativos no mercado, bem como os desafios que se colocam perante o actual paradigma de intervenção, com recurso à análise dos correspondentes fundamentos teóricos, dos dados empíricos resultantes das crises bancárias ocorridas na Irlanda, Portugal e Chipre, e do longo caminho jurídico percorrido desde a aprovação das Comunicações Sobre a Crise até à aprovação dos pilares da recém-criada União Bancária.The research undertaken in this dissertation focuses on the issue of the intervention carried out by Public Authorities in scenarios of banking crises, specifically in the context of crisis affecting the Eurozone since the year 2008 until the present.
