Such a process is vital to the survival of ecosystems and human life. Despite the importance of bees, this insect needs recognition at a time when its count seems to be falling globally. The purpose of this project is to create a set of illustrations from the collection of the team behind the Red Listing of Invertebrates of mainland Portugal. Its goal is to be part of a publication project that could serve as an identification guide of bees (family Apidae) that showcase the visual diversity of this insect in Portuguese territory.
