In this chapter I explore how powerful truths associated with neoliberal and managerial agendas are transforming the disciplinary field and ‘apparatus’ of planning in Scotland. I go on to argue that a focus on the practices of ‘cultural work’ through which actors variously resist or adapt to change might deepen understanding of the political potential for challenging such processes and their effects on contemporary ideas of planning.engCultural workPlanningbook part
