Partial Least Squares modeling was used to estimate the model parameters, and the sample is composed of companies in the manufacturing industry of the BRICS countries, in the period from 2012 to 2017. The key results are that market power and competitive position influence firm performance, and the task environment does not significantly influence competitive position, market power, and performance.
