As adaptações audiovisuais podem proporcionar novas visões de um mesmo texto, mas a possibilidade de reescrevermos o passado com olhos do presente, a fim de as tornar mais inclusivas e alinhadas às discussões sociais do presente são aqui o foco da inclusão dos Estudos da Adaptação. A construção social do que é compreendido como “ser mulher” e “agir como mulher” tem por trás questões discutidas pelos Estudos de Género. A articulação das duas perspectivas com os novos meios de comunicação e distribuição audiovisual resultam na leitura da série Anne With an E, adaptação de um romance infantil que atingiu novos públicos e objetivos de conscientização por meio de suas três temporadas. Utilizando também noções sobre identidade, cultura, distribuição audiovisual, os media e o movimento feminista, este trabalho trará reflexões sobre as necessidades ou não de uma adaptação ser fiel, ao que foi necessário para refletir os movimentos sociais do século XXI por meio das personagens e quais as leituras que a série permite.The present work proposes a reading of the TV series Anne With an E with an intersection of two analytical perspectives: Adaptation Studies and Gender Studies. Audiovisual adaptations can provide new visions of the same text, but the possibility of rewriting the past with present eyes, in order to make them more inclusive and aligned with present social discussions, is the focus of the inclusion of Adaptation Studies. The social construction of what is understood as "being a woman" and "acting like a woman" has behind it issues discussed by Gender Studies. The combination of these two perspectives with new means of audiovisual communication and distribution results in the reading of the TV series Anne With an E, which through the adaptation of a children's novel reaches new audiences and awareness objectives through its three seasons. Using notions of identity, culture, audiovisual distribution, media, and the feminist movement, this work will bring reflections on the needs or not for an adaptation to be faithful, what was necessary to reflect the social movements of the 21st century through the characters, and what messages can be drawn from the series.pormaster thesis203461088
