Infographics is generally used to answer complex communication problems and overcome certain situations where the text for itself is insufficient, ineffective or even useless. With this project, we attempted to apply the principles of information design (specifically of infographics) to the task of doing a dissertation. For that purpose, we based on the book “Destination Dissertation” by Sonja Foss and Williams Waters. Therefore, this work consisted in designing one process (designing an infographic, with systematic registration of all steps) about another process (developing a dissertation). After synthesizing the information in a structured way, the method consisted in designing and testing various kinds of records. This sought to translate the meaning of the journey that is the making of a dissertation – as explained in the original text – in a simple and simultaneously appealing way to the user. Analogic and digital techniques were used for image editing. Pencil, paper, camera, computer and video were the elected work tools throughout. The resulting product of this work is a digital application that contains an interactive infographic, where simple and intuitive diagrams let the user explore every step in the making of a dissertation. Furthermore, a set of videos exemplify the key moments associated to that process of research and development, in a dynamic, entertaining and casual wayporInfografiaDesign de comunicaçãoDissertações académicasMetodologiasComo fazer uma dissertação : uma infografia sobre o métodomaster thesis201279193
