From an actor who wrote and often directed his own texts, Rodrigues quickly began to establish himself also as an author and director. There is an undoubtable singularity in Tiago Rodrigues’ theatre. He is one of the clearest examples in contemporary world performance of a Goethian drive for “world literature”. It is our argument that one of Rodrigues most perceivable dramaturgical axes is a desire to pay homage to European humanistic traditions as a gesture of political resistance through art and memory. His literary journey through the words and titles of the past aim poignantly to supersede the failures of the present.engMemoryPortuguese theatreFall of the Berlin WallLiterary journeyA Journey Around Tiago Rodrigues’ Roombook part
