As this was a time of enormous transformation in our society, it is fundamental to understand what responses the sector has given to the difficulties related to the situation of isolation, analyzing what patterns have been fostered by social distancing, and how the transition to the virtual has been carried out, what experiences have resulted, what measures have arrived to stay and how this new resource can be exploited by cultural institutions. As the object of study, the case of the project Hangar - Artistic Research Center was analyzed due to its active online presence during this period, which allows us to understand the type of measures that were implemented, their creation and development, and if they worked or not, and how the Hangar Online platform and their virtual projects are planned to continue after this period. To achieve this objective, an analysis of data from various institutions from existing reports and studies on this subject has been done, which is cross-referenced with the specific case of Hangar, complemented by the results of a series of interviews with some of the project's participants during the pandemic period. In order to understand our object of study and how it works, the first chapter provides an understanding of what cultural associations are and introduces Xerem – Cultural Association, responsible for the Hangar project, which is explained in more detail in the following chapter. The third chapter covers the impact of the pandemic on our society and the entertainment industry. It examines the period, giving a context of how the events took place and what their impacts were in society and in the cultural sector. The final chapter focuses specifically on the impact of the pandemic on the Hangar project, examining its consequences, the responses that have been given to this situation, especially at a virtual level, and analyzing the results that have been obtainedporHangar - Centro de Investigação Artística (Lisboa).Xerem - Associação Cultural (Lisboa).Pandemia Covid-19InfluênciasAssociações culturais - PortugalPlataforma Hangar OnlineIndústrias do entretenimentoO setor cultural em tempo de pandemia : o caso do Hangar - Centro de Investigação Artísticamaster thesis203592093
