Sendo um desses elementos o Real-Time Monitoring and Control (RTMC) que utiliza a implementação open-source chamada NetSNMP, foi necessário criar um componente que fosse capaz de suportar comunicação SNMP e integrando-se com os seus outros componentes. Esse componente veio-se a chamar SNMP Agent, sendo criado com um subagente do protocolo AgentX. É também necessário ter a capacidade para testar e validar as funcionalidades providenciadas pelo agente, por isso foi desenvolvido um SNMP Manager para a plataforma de testes do RTMC chamada Assembly Integration and Validation Platform (AIVP). Neste relatório irá ser feita uma breve apresentação do projecto Galileo, uma introdução e explicação do protocolo SNMP e a extensão AgentX, e uma vista geral da concepção e concretização do SNMP Agent e do SNMP Manager.During the conception of the Galileo project, a decision was made to use the SNMP protocol as the basis for a communication network that would be responsible for monitoring and controlling several elements of the ground segment of Galileo. One of those elements being the Real-Time Monitoring and Control (RTMC) that uses the open-source implementation named NetSNMP, there was the need to implement a component that would be able to support SNMP communication, while being integrated with it's other components. Such component would be named SNMP Agent, being created has an AgentX sub agent. Also there was the need to be able to test and validate the functionalities provided by such an agent, so it was also developed an SNMP Manager for the RTMC test platform named Assembly Integration and Validation Platform (AIVP).
