To reverse this trend, alternatives that are more environmentally friendly and more economically accessible have been considered. The goal is to get buildings with an excellent air quality and high indoor thermal comfort, which will lead to more energy-efficient and low energy consumption. Therefore appears the concept of Passivhaus buildings, where the main aim is to build energy efficient buildings with low energy consumption, and at the same time, high thermal comfort. This concept has been increasingly being used in Europe, especially in Germany, where the concept was created. This german standard is very demanding, presenting a construction strategy based on several requirements in order to obtain high efficiency of a building. To a building be certified by the standard, they need to provide the minimum requirements. Regarding the study that was done, it is based on the construction of Passivhaus buildings in Portugal, where it is applied the concept of the Passivhaus standard. Thus, the norm will be adapted to the portuguese climate and to the construction methods carried out in Portugal. So, it can be concluded that the construction of buildings according to the Passivhaus requirements in Portugal is viable, although the high initial investmentporenergy efficiencysustainable developmentsustainable buildingspassivhausEficiência energética de edifícios: conceito passivhausmaster thesis201848074
