The Doces Visualizações project is implemented through a set of information visualizations designed and produced based on the contents of the book A Doçaria Portuguesa - Zona Centro. These visualizations act as graphic translations of the data and information contained in this book, with the objective of providing a visual understanding of Portuguese sweets. Therefore, we aim to exemplify and demonstrate the potential of information visualization as a communication tool capable of revealing and disseminating knowledge about food topics. Following a methodology based on action and implemented in a project-based approach, the investigation was developed in three stages. Initially, a theoretical framework is carried out which, in addition to identifying the central concepts of the research, seeks to establish connections between design, information visualization, food and, in particular, with the transdisciplinary territory of food design. In a second phase, information visualization projects that, in different ways, focus on the topic of food are identified and analyzed. The last stage corresponds to the development of the project and resulted in three visualizations that represent information about Portuguese sweets. The study carried out and the results obtained confirm the possibility of applying information visualization to the field of food.
