Foram analisadas 545 respostas de uma amostra de conveniência de bombeiros profissionais portugueses, tendo todas as hipóteses de investigação sido confirmadas. Os resultados evidenciam uma relação negativa entre o Burnout e a Satisfação Geral com a Vida, e uma relação positiva entre o Engagement e a Satisfação Geral com a Vida. As variáveis de controlo sexo, idade e tenure não mostraram impacto na Satisfação Geral com a Vida dos bombeiros profissionais portugueses representados na amostra. Os resultados obtidos contribuem para a literatura por permitirem um melhor entendimento do impacto do bem-estar em contexto de trabalho, no bem-estar geral dos indivíduos. São ainda apresentadas no presente estudo algumas implicações práticas e limitações, assim como sugestões para estudos futuros.This study has the purpose of analyzing the relationship between Burnout and Engagement with General Satisfaction with Life in Portuguese professional firefighters. A total of 545 answers from a convenience sample of Portuguese professional firefighters were analyzed, and all research hypotheses were confirmed. The results showed a negative relationship between Burnout and General Satisfaction with Life, and a positive relationship between Engagement and General Satisfaction with Life. The control variables gender, age and tenure showed no impact on the General Satisfaction with Life of the Portuguese professional firefighters represented in the sample. The results obtained contribute to the literature by providing a better understanding of the impact of well-being at work on the overall well-being of individuals.
