Communication plays a fundamental role in environmental education and fire prevention. For this reason, the aim of this research is to design a communication proposal for the biomass collection and transportation service, thus contributing to the prevention of forest fires and reducing the use of burning, with the intention of generating economic value for forest biomass collected in a sustainable and controlled manner from public and private land. And so, through Communication Design and a Service Communication proposal, the aim is to raise awareness and encourage owners of forest land to clean up their plots and participate in the Silves municipality's biomass circuit. This contribution to the biomass circuit will successively feed small heating plants and transform the biomass collected into energy that will be used in buildings. This communication has benefited from information from the Project: Biomass in Portugal, conducted by ISEG and LUKE. It is a project financed by the ICNF Permanent Forest Fund and aims to respond to the preservation of forest areas by improving economic sustainability and preventing fires. This study also includes a small contextualization of small forest biomass recovery plants in Portugal, which will soon take place in Chaves, Góis and Silves, with Silves being the case study presented here. The research methodology adopted for data collection was mixed, and the methodology used for the design project was the Double Diamond. Interviews and a field visit were conducted to gain a better understanding. In this way, it is expected that by using design tools, we will be able to understand the best ways to make the biomass collection service work and to communicate the use of residual forest biomass and reduce the risk of fire.porBiomassa florestalPrevenção de incêndioDesign de comunicaçãoDesign de serviçosMapas de sistemasDesign ecológicoSustentabilidadeO contributo do Design para a prevenção de incêndios florestais : design de um serviço de recolha de biomassa florestalmaster thesis203539745
