This work is divided into four chapters: 1st - General aspects of movement related to the study of physics; 2nd - Kinetic art movement chronology; 3rd - Works by contemporary artists, who used movement; 4th - Kinetic Art in Portugal. A dimension of the most powerful visual stimulus may be movement, whether it is real or apparent. What is movement? When we talk about movement we have to consider works of art that represent movement and works in which there are mechanisms that produce movement.
