A cidade tornou-se um importante destino turístico devido à sua posição geográfica, cultura e variedade de atividades. No entanto, Lagos enfrenta muitos desafios, incluindo o aumento do custo de vida, o aumento da poluição e do congestionamento, perda de identidade do lugar e a deslocação dos habitantes locais. O projeto em causa pretende responder a questões importantes relacionadas com a mitigação desses problemas e a promoção do património e da cultura locais, através da criação de soluções habitacionais sustentáveis, acessíveis e inclusivas e estratégias para envolver a comunidade local no projeto. São levantadas questões importantes sobre a história e evolução da cidade de Lagos, as suas necessidades atuais, e os melhores métodos de resposta que a arquitetura pode oferecer. Pretende-se também explorar o impacto positivo que a nova arquitetura pode trazer para a cidade, aumentando o bem-estar e a qualidade de vida dos habitantes locais e mantendo a cidade atraente para turistas de todo o mundo.This paper proposes the creation of a new architecture for the city of Lagos that can mitigate the negative impacts of gentrification while meeting the needs of tourists and locals. The city has become an important tourist destination due to its geographical position, culture, and variety of activities. However, Lagos faces many challenges, including the rising cost of living, increased pollution and congestion, loss of place identity, and displacement of residents. This project aims to address critical issues related to mitigating these problems and promoting local heritage and culture through the creation of sustainable, affordable, and inclusive housing solutions and strategies to involve the local community in the project. Important questions are raised about the history and evolution of the city of Lagos, its current needs, and the best methods of response that architecture can offer.
