A preocupação concentra-se nas Instituições Particulares de Solidariedade, cuja iniciativa se inscreve no âmbito da política social. Após discutir a autonomia do conceito, é feita uma resenha das principais contribuições que explicam a sua criação pelo fracasso dos restantes sectores; parte-se de seguida para a partição da problemática da sua criação na efectivação da caridade e na transformação de una lógica de acção colectiva em cooperação voluntária efectiva.The aim of this survey is to describe and explain the emergence and the rationale of Nonprofit Organisations, together with the relationships established with the remaining institutional forrns, market and Government. Concern lies chiefiy over organisations delivering social goods or services within the scope of what is understood to stand for our concept of social policy.
