Pretendeu-se analisar, para cada grupo, a relação (bivariada) entre as três variáveis, e o papel mediador da vinculação do adulto (insegura – ansiedade/evitamento) na relação entre sintomatologia psicopatológica e satisfação conjugal, que carece de investigação. Participaram no estudo 465 indivíduos, 230 homens (Midade = 42.28; DP = 5.72) e 235 mulheres (Midade = 40; DP = 4.88). Utilizaram-se os instrumentos BSI, EVA e ESCK. Os resultados mostraram que, em ambos os grupos, a vinculação-ansiedade associou-se positivamente com a sintomatologia depressiva (rhomens/mulheres = .52/.33), ansiosa (rhomens/mulheres = .43/.28) e de hostilidade (rhomens/mulheres = .28/.27), o mesmo acontecendo com a vinculação-evitamento face à sintomatologia depressiva (rhomens/mulheres = .37/.39), ansiosa (rhomens/mulheres = .31/32) e de hostilidade (rhomens/mulheres = .33/.31). A satisfação conjugal, por sua vez, associou-se negativamente com a sintomatologia depressiva (rhomens/mulheres = -.31/-.24), ansiosa (rhomens = -.29/-.17) e de hostilidade (rhomens = -.23/-.15). Apenas a vinculação-evitamento se constituiu como mediadora da relação entre sintomatologia e satisfação conjugal, para homens (depressão: β = -.10, EPBoot = .03, 95% ICBoot = [-.16, .05]; ansiedade: β = -.08, EPBoot = .03, 95% ICBoot = [-.14, .04]; hostilidade: β = -.09, EPBoot = .03, 95% ICBoot = [-.14, -.04] ) e mulheres (depressão: β = -.10, EPBoot = .03, 95% ICBoot = [-.17, -.04]; ansiedade: β = -.08, EPBoot = .03, 95% ICBoot = [-.15, -.03]; hostilidade: β = -.08, EPBoot = .03, 95% ICBoot = [-.15, -.03]), obtendo-se também um efeito direto, mas apenas no caso dos homens. Os resultados sugerem a pertinência de se atender ao potencial efeito da vinculação (insegura), no impacto da sintomatologia na satisfação conjugal, mostrando também que este impacto pode ser especialmente relevante para os homens.This study focuses on psychopathological symptomatology, adult attachment and marital satisfaction in groups of men and women. The aims were to analyze, in each group, the (bivariate) relationship between the three variables, and the mediating role of adult attachment ( insecure anxiety/avoidance) in the relationship between psychopathological symptomatology and marital satisfaction, which requires further research. The study sample consisted of 465 individuals, 230 men ( M age = 42.28; SD = 5.72) and 235 women M age = 40; SD = 4.88). The BSI, AAQ R and KMSS instruments were used . The results showed that, in both groups, attachment anxiety was positively associated with depressive r men/women = .52/.33), anxious r men/women = .43/.28) and hostile symptomatology r men/women = .28/.27), as was also the case of attachment avoidance with depressive r men/women = .37/.39), anxious r men/women = .31/32) and hostile symptomatology r men/women = .33/.31). Conversely, marital satisfaction was negatively associated with depressive ( r men/women = 31/--.24), anxious r men = --. 29/--.17) and hostile symptomatology r men = --. 23/--.15). Only attachment avoidance was found to mediate the relationship between symptomatology and marital satisfaction, for men (depression: β = --.10, SE Boot = .03, 95% CI Boot = [--.16, .05]; anxiety: β = --.08, SE Boot = .03, 95% CI Boot = [--.14, .04]; hostility: β = --.09, SE Boot = .03, 95% CI Boot = [--.14, --.04] ) and women (depression: β = --.10, SE Boot = .03, 95% CI Boot = [--.17, --.04]; anxiety: β = --.08, SE Boot = .03, 95% CI Boot = .15, --.03]; hostility: β = --.08, SE Boot = .03, 95% CI Boot = [--.15, --.03]). A direct effect was also obtained but only in the group of men.
