Trata-se, pois, de um exercício de reflexão em torno das problemáticas do divino, traduzidas nas fórmulas: ser-supremo, divindade, energia vital e predestinação, tidas como fundamentais para a compreensão do pensamento religioso do objeto de estudo. Partindo de uma perspetiva essencialmente teológica, pretende-se compreender o pensamento religioso yorùbá per si, procurando entender as transformações conceptuais mais do que procurar paralelos com outros imaginários religiosos, particularmente aqueles fora das fronteiras africanas.ABSTRACT: The present thesis aims to construct a linear theology discourse about the yorùbá people of western Africa, trying to get to the deep central religious formulas of that specific religious identity. It represents an observation of the dilemmas concerning the divine which is expressed in central concepts: supreme-being, divinity, vital-force and predestination. Those concepts must be seen as vital for the understanding of the object of study: the yorùbá religion.
