The recent merger of the choirs of the University of Lisbon and the Technical University of Lisbon, as a consequence of the merger of these Universities, is one such example. With the thesis that follows, we will seek to outline the contours of a student activity of choral singing at the University of Lisbon, understood at the light of the concept of Artistic Education, in an attempt to understand on the one hand its history and on the other, the contribution it represents to its participants. In the first chapter we will attempt to find out the University Choir in a historical perspective, taking as a basis the documentary sources on its booty. The roots and development of a university choir as this seem to contain traces of the social environment in which it is inserted, reflected in several areas. On the other hand, in the second chapter, the discourses present in questionnaires, not only strengthens evidences of this social component, but also offer personal perspectives that in some ways are repeated, which allow us to understand with other eyes the various domains which this activity seems to encompass. Thus represent two vertices from which we will seek to identify some approaches and departures that invite to reflections around the concepts of School, Aesthetic Experience and Artistic EducationporUniversidade de Lisboa.
