Os objetivos específicos da investigação convergem para analisar os processos do trabalho prescrito e do trabalho real dos Educadores Sociais, verificar o percurso formativo no contexto de trabalho e identificar as suas aprendizagens e saberes no efetivo exercício da função. A metodologia utilizada no estudo foi de caráter qualitativo, baseada em pesquisa documental, para o levantamento de documentos oficiais relevantes para este estudo. Empregou-se a técnica da entrevista, em formato semiestruturado, junto a sete Educadores Sociais e dois técnicos do SCFV em duas unidades do CRAS, sendo uma da capital do Estado, Belém, e outro, localizado na chamada região das ilhas. Para interpretar os dados obtidos, utilizamos a análise de conteúdo. Os resultados da pesquisa apontaram para a existência de dicotomias entre as atividades propostas pela FUNPAPA e as realizadas pelos Educadores Sociais no SCFV, o desconhecimento do processo de regulamentação da profissão no país, assim como a necessidade da criação de um plano formativo integrado entre as Proteções Sociais da instituição e a construção de diretrizes orientadoras para o trabalho dos Educadores Sociais e técnicos do SCFV. Notou-se também, que os participantes da pesquisa desenvolviam o trabalho proposto com atividades de caráter mais prático sobre as quais refletiam pouco, diante da carência de cursos de capacitação, qualificação e formação no efetivo exercício da função.The research entitled Prescribed Work versus Real Work: the role of the Social Educator in the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS), in the city of Belém - Pará, Brazil, aims to analyze and discuss the prescribed work and real work, training and learning of Social Educators, through the practices developed in the CRAS Coexistence and Strengthening Service (SCFV). The specific objectives of the investigation converge to analyze the processes of the prescribed work and the real work of Social Educators, to verify the training path in the work context and to identify their learning and knowledge in the effective exercise of the function. The methodology used in the study was qualitative, based on documentary research, of relevant oficial documents. The interview technique was used, in a semi-structured format, with seven Social Educators and two SCFV technicians in two CRAS units, one in the state capital, Belém, and the other, located in the so-called region of the islands. To interpret the data obtained, we used content analysis, according to those of Bardin (2011). The results of the research pointed to the existence of dichotomies between the activities proposed by FUNPAPA and those carried out by Social Educators in the SCFV, the ignorance of the process of regulation of the profession in the country, as well as the need to create an integrated training plan between the Protections Institution's Social Services and the construction of guidelines for the work of SCFV's Social Educators and technicians.
