A investigação tem como objetivo principal entender a importância das fanzines como meio de informação na subcultura Punk Hardcore, da mesma forma que tenciona realizar um enquadramento histórico do movimento em Portugal, desde a sua origem na década de 80 do século XX até ao presente. A investigação tem ainda como objetivos caracterizar o formato e indicar as suas principais características e temáticas, bem como compreender a relevância das fanzines para a disseminação de informação, na perceção de autores e consumidores provenientes da subcultura em estudo. Para isso, as técnicas de recolha e análise de dados utilizadas na investigação consistiram sobretudo na exploração de três coleções privadas e na realização de três inquéritos por entrevista, com a intenção de obter dados qualitativos e quantitativos. O estudo permitiu verificar que as fanzines assumem um posicionamento anti-establishment na partilha de assuntos considerados fraturantes para a sociedade da época, como o straight edge e o veganismo. A questão da preservação da informação também é investigada, através do levantamento das principais bibliotecas e centros de documentação existentes no panorama nacional e internacional, com um enfoque na preservação de publicações alternativas associadas à subcultura Punk Hardcore.This dissertation aims to present fanzines as an independent publishing format. The main aim of the research is to understand the importance of fanzines as a means of information in the Hardcore Punk subculture, as well as to provide a historical framework for the movement in Portugal, from its origins in the 1980s to the present day. The research also aims to characterise the format and indicate its main characteristics and themes, as well as to understand the relevance of fanzines for the dissemination of information, in the perception of authors and consumers from the subculture under study. The data collection consisted on exploring three private collections and conducting three strutured interviews, with the goal of obtain qualitative and quantitative data. This study allowed us to verify that fanzines take an anti-establishment outlook in the past, by sharing alternative subjects such as the straight edge and veganism. The issue of information preservation is also investigated, through a survey of the main libraries and documentation centres on the national and international scene, focused on the preservation of alternative publications associated with the Hardcore Punk subculture.pormaster thesis203705670
