Estes incêndios afetam áreas florestais e agrícolas, atingindo frequentemente aldeias e zonas com elevado valor ambiental e económico. Em 2017, o governo português criou os programas "Aldeia Segura" e "Pessoas Seguras", com o objetivo de fortalecer a preparação e resposta da população em situações de incêndios rurais. O presente trabalho tem como objetivos: colaborar na implementação e execução dos programas "Aldeia Segura” e “Pessoas Seguras" (ASPS); contribuir para a recolha de informações e dados relevantes relacionados com a implementação do programa, para analisar o seu impacto e eficácia; analisar o estado da atual distribuição territorial dos programas; entre outros. Para dar resposta aos objetivos definidos, procedeu-se a uma recolha e tratamento de dados sobre as freguesias prioritárias, o estado atual dos programas e a sua evolução cronológica; realizou-se também trabalho de campo, que consistiu na observação de 2 exercícios de evacuação. Os resultados do presente trabalho mostram o aumento dos níveis de segurança através da realização de ações de educação e formação; o compromisso comunitário; o reforço da capacitação das entidades intervenientes; contudo também mostram a limitação existente em recursos materiais, financeiros e humanos; a distribuição heterogénea na implementação e a dependência da vontade política.Rural fires in Portugal are a frequent reality, especially in the summer months, when temperatures are high and vegetation is dry. These fires affect forestry and agricultural areas, often affecting villages and areas with high environmental and economic value. In 2017, the Portuguese government created the "Aldeia Segura" and "Pessoas Seguras" programs, with the aim of strengthening the population's preparedness and response in situations of rural fires.
